The Immigration Society of Newberry, S.C., is prepared to furnish the country with field laborers and mechanics, 1869 Sept. 6 : [ broadside].

Announcing charges of the society to supply foreign laborers as field hands and mechanics during Reconstruction-era; listing expenses for seasonal hire of a laborer, or an entire immigrant family, with rates for travel expenses for workers coming from New York "to any point on the South Carolina and Greenville and Columbia Rail Road"; and offering suggestions to improve labor relations. Officers of the society include F.W. Bruggemann, General Agent of the Society; Rev. T[haddeus] S[treet] Boinest, president; Silas Johnstone, Secretary; and B.L. McCaughrin, treasurer.
